Tika Sumpter Off Contract at OLTL

One Life to Live star Tika Sumpter (Layla) posted a video message on her Facebook page to announce that she has decided to go on recurring status effective July 30 with the ABC soap.

“As of July 30th, I will no longer be on contract. I will be on recurring status. This was my choice,” said Sumpter. “I decided this because it’s just time to move on for me. It’s time for me to try other things. And… it’s just time. You know, you come at a crossroads in your life and you know that it’s time to go on.”

Sumpter has been on One Life to Live since 2005.

Alicia Minshew Returns to All My Children

Kendall Hart Slater is making her way back to Pine Valley. Alicia Minshew is returning fulltime to All My Children after an extended maternity leave. She is not coming alone, Thorsten Kaye (Zach) is coming back for a limited run.

Minshew first airdate is August 9. Kaye will air on August 16.

Stacy Haiduk Out at The Young and The Restless

The Young and the Restless has decided not to renew the contract of their breakout star, Stacy Haiduk (Patti/Emily).

“Stacy Haiduk is a fantastic actress and we are thrilled with her performances as Patty Williams and Dr. Emily Peterson,” said Y&R’s co-executive producer/headwriter Maria Arena Bell. “Though she is going off contract we hope that Stacy will reprise the role in the future.”

Haiduk joined the top rated drama last year and will air until August 6. The talented actress won’t be out of a job long, she is joining Days of Our Lives in September.
